History of Boran Dance
Boran Dance is inspired by the sellers of rice boran, which is a traditional food typical of Lamongan, East Java Province. In ancient times the sellers of this boran rice in hawking their wares by using Wakul or a container of rice made of bamboo placed on top of their heads to carry it. In peddling their rice boran they walk and offer their wares to everyone they meet. Under the heat of the sun and also the rigors of life they struggle in search of fortune.
